The Modest Beginning Of Silver Star Casting Co
Many big fashion brands started with a modest beginning. Others didn’t even have intentions to become a business. Just like the popular Silver Star apparel line. Founded in 1993 by Luke Burrett, Silver Star Casting Co. has risen from the streets of California and became one of the major players in rock fashion industry. It all began when Burrett provided the department store Gadzooks silver rings. After more ring designs the demand suddenly took off. Celebrities began to request customized rings and t-shirts. It was because of these request that Burrett entered into designing apparel. Later on he started sponsoring his shirt designs to Mix Martial Arts athletes. But it was only when he developed his relationship with UFC that Silver Star Casting Company became a hit.
It wasn’t as easy as it sound. Although he was fully committed to his business, there was a constant struggle with capital, but it was all worth it.
The combination of love for apparel and passion for martial arts, brought Silver Star to sponsor the biggest names in the fighting world today, including Anderson Silva, Rich Franklin, Georges St. Pierre, Rashad Evans, Trigger Gumm, Duane Peters and Manny Pacquiao to name a few. These sponsored athletes can share their inputs on their shirt design.
The family affair business, Burrett, along with his wife and Co-owner Charis, and son Jake, has evolved Silver Star designs to be a mix of action sports, rock music, and street culture. Guns, angel wings, skulls, flags, stars and strong bold letterings are their trademark designs.
From its accessory beginnings, it has now evolved to a full apparel line. There is male, female and athletic apparel for sale. Men’s clothing is everything from T-shirts, V-neck shirts, hoodies, shorts, denim and head gear. Burrett kept the jewelry line as before. Only large silver rings are available. The women’s clothing has the same design concept, but shirt cuts are more feminine.Silver Star Casting Company is becoming widely popular in young generation today and will surely stay in the fashion industry for a long time.
